What Comes in a Diatmous Set (and Why Each Piece Is There)

A Diatmous set includes more than the mat itself. Each additional piece is there for a specific reason, so here is what you get and why.

The trifold stone drying mat

The centrepiece. A fast-absorbing diatomite core wrapped in a food-grade silicone base, measuring 24.6 by 15.4 inches when open and folding flat for storage. It handles the daily wash-up and then disappears into a drawer.

The matching caddy on wooden feet

Made from the same diatomite stone and raised on four small wooden feet for airflow underneath. It gives your sponge, soap and brushes a proper home instead of a puddle, and keeps them drier between uses. It is the piece people tell us they did not expect to use as much as they do.

The sanding pad

The most underrated item in the box. Over time the stone’s surface pores can become less open, and marks can appear. A light pass with the sanding pad lifts the very top layer away, taking marks with it and restoring absorbency. It means a mat that slows down can be brought back rather than replaced.

The non-slip cover

A simple addition that adds grip and protection, useful for keeping things stable and shielding surfaces.

The packaging

Everything arrives in a premium slide box with branded tissue paper. We kept the packaging deliberately gift-worthy because a large share of Diatmous sets are bought as presents, and nobody should have to repackage a gift before giving it.

And with every set, a tree is planted. One order, one tree.
